Dr. Felz, graduated Veterinary School in 2000 from the University of Florida, having completed an externship at the Santa Barbara Zoo as well two externships at the prestigious Angell Memorial Veterinary Hospital in Boston, MA. The first was in cardiology and the second in wildlife & zoo medicine.
Dr. Felz also completed a rigorous Small Animal Medicine, Surgery & Emergency Medicine internship at Hollywood Animal Hospital in South Florida. Over her 16 months, she was an integral part of their 17 doctor team. This internship also included regular rotations at Palm Beach Veterinary Specialists here in West Palm Beach.
Dr. Felz has spent many years in veterinary practices around Palm Beach County. In 2012, Dr. Felz accepted the opportunity to purchase Ibis Animal Hospital from the previous owner who was leaving the state.
Some of Dr. Felz’s professional interests include emergency medicine, internal medicine, surgery, dentistry, dermatology and sports medicine. She still works regular shifts at local Emergency Practices because she is passionate about helping pets in crisis. Dr. Felz also believes in giving back and is a strong supporter of local rescues.
In her private life she has many interests including her many pets, playing golf, traveling across this great nation with her family and cheering on her children at their sporting events.
Dr. Sando is originally from Maryland. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the University of Rochester and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at Kansas State University.
Following graduation, she moved to South Florida and completed a small animal internship at Hollywood Animal Hospital with a heavy emphasis on emergency medicine.
Upon completion of her internship, she worked in primary care practice for a few years, Dr. Sando also works in emergency medicine.
In her off time she spends her time with her husband and two kids along with her dog Beau, an Australian shepherd and two cats.
Dr. Mitchell attended the University of Massachusetts, Amherst where he obtained a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He then went on to attend Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Mitchell has been performing ultrasounds since 2007.
During his undergraduate studies he was selected as an intern for a study involving spinal fusion fixation techniques using calf spines as models. It was his interest in biomedical engineering that spurred a career involving animal physiology, eventually leading to a career in veterinary medicine.
Dr. Mitchell provides thorough and efficient imaging. With a background in engineering, he is a trained problem solver, with the experience and know-how to interpret and apply sonographic pathology in a clinical perspective to help manage your difficult cases.
Dr. Carlow graduated from Tulane in New Orleans with her undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering. She then graduated from LSU School of Veterinary Medicine in 2000.
Her and her family moved to South Florida just before Hurricane Katrina. She has 2 little dogs who are both rescues; 1 Dachshund and 1 Frenchie. She has 2 children.
Dr. Forrest “Woody” Hayes is a seasoned ultrasonographer. Prior to specializing in ultrasounds and endoscopy, Dr. Hayes owned a small animal practice for 16 years.
Dr. Hayes provides the clients & patients of Ibis Animal Hospital with his 14 years of experience in the use of ultrasonography for advanced diagnostics.
He is passionate about medicine, compassionate, and tireless in the pursuit of a diagnosis.
Dr. David Spranklin is a fifth generation veterinarian who completed his DVM degree at the Virginia Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 2002.
He then moved on to a rotating small animal internship at Mississippi State University in 2003. He performed his surgical residency at Washington State University where he honed his orthopedic and soft tissue surgical skills.
He became board certified with the American College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2007. He was a staff surgeon at Veterinary Specialists of South Florida in Cooper City from 2006 until 2012.
Dr. Spranklin performs soft tissue, orthopedic, oncologic and neurosurgery with a special interest in minimally invasive surgery (laparoscopy, thoracoscopy, and arthroscopy). He is a board certified member of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS) as well as a member of the AVMA and BCVMA.
Carla grew up in Nicaragua, went to Veterinary school, and worked as a licensed Veterinarian before moving to the United States with her husband a few years ago.
While she studies for her U.S. Veterinary exam for licensure, we're very proud to have her on the team as one of our Senior Veterinary Technicians.
In her free time, she enjoys traveling, running, & spending time with her family. She also has an adorable Dachshund named Chicken Nugget & a rescue cat named Chips.
As one of our Senior Technicians, Angie takes direction directly from the Doctor on call, then leads our Veterinary team in accomplishing their given treatment plan.
She's lived in the Western Communities for more than 30 years & worked in the Veterinary field for nearly 25 of them. Dr. Felz & Angie have been good friends since 2000.
Angie shares her home with 2 Doberman Pinschers, Storm and Harley, and a super sweet Pekingese named Cujo. In her free time she loves fishing and buggy rides with her husband of 30 years and is a loving mother of two young men.
Barb began her career in Long Island, New York at a mixed Veterinary practice where she got her first dog, Coco, a German Shorthaired Pointer.
In 1973 she moved to Florida where her continued love for animals and dedication to Veterinary medicine has provided her a wide array of experience from emergency medicine to practice management.
She has also bred and showed Doberman Pinschers, including 5 champions, in the 1990’s.
Her vast knowledge and continued dedication is a huge resource to us here in the Ibis family.
Today Barb shares her home with her 16 year old Jack Russell Terrier, Taco, a 1 year old Pit Bull, Shiloh, and her 18 year old Cockatiel, Cisco. She enjoys spending time with her fur babies, playing cards with friends, reading and watching a good movie. Dr. Felz and Barb have known each other since 2001.
Ashlynn has worked as a Veterinary Technician since 2013, having worked in both General Practice as well as in Emergency and Critical Care. She received her degree as a CVT in 2016.
She's currently pursuing an education & career as a EMT/Firefighter for a second career. In herspare time she keeps busy with school & clinicals.
Teresa was born and raised in Suffolk, Virginia. Employed by her uncle, who was a veterinarian, she worked in his seven doctor veterinary practice from 1976 to 1987.
She attended college at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina. In 1987 she moved to Florida. In 2008 she returned to the Veterinary world and was instrumental in the establishment of Ibis Animal in 2008.
Teresa has two grown sons who also reside in Florida and a 5 pound rescue Chihuahua named Peanut. On her days off she enjoys dancing, reading, relaxing at the beach and spending time with family and friends.
Leigh has been with the Ibis family since 2009 and has worked in the Veterinary field for over 22 years. She has been married 18 years and has three beautiful, talented daughters.
Leigh also shares her home with two wonderful rescue dogs, Bailey and Hanleigh. Bailey, is a Lab mix with the best personality. Her sister, Hanleigh, is extremely loving with just a touch of crazy mixed in.
Leigh prides herself in her work. She really enjoys helping people and their four legged babies alike. Leigh is thankful that the Veterinary field allows her to do what she loves and grateful that she gets to work with amazing people every day.
Jeff has a diverse background having owned & managed a number of businesses ranging from instruction to medical sales. His focus is on improving office efficiency
as well as achieving the highest level of client satisfaction. He is always entertaining suggestions and new ideas, striving to improve patient comfort as well as ensuring the highest in client satisfaction.

Katie has had a great love for animals her entire life. She grew up in West Palm Beach and graduated from Wellington High school’s Pre-Veterinary Program in 2011.
After graduation, she started her career in veterinary medicine and joined Ibis Animal Hospital in 2015. She is a Licensed Massage Therapist and has certifications for both Equine & Canine Massage Therapy.
In her spare time she enjoys hunting, kayaking, paddleboarding and spending time with family and friends. Katie lives happily with her dog, Fancy, two cats, Charlie and Finn, and their very big brother, Moonshine, a 10 year old Quarter horse.
Oscar has been a professional dog trainer for over 28 years. He was trained in Europe and has acquired some of the best training techniques from abroad and here in the USA. His dog training school has imported many K9 officers for both the State Police and Sheriff Departments. He has also trained some top competitors in the United States.
He runs our In-Home Canine Training & will come right out to you for private sessions. Call the office and ask Jeff about our In-Home training for more info.
Crystal runs our Off-Site Canine Training locally in our Western Communities. We offer complimentary Pick-Up/Drop-Off Service to the training facility which is located on a beautiful 5 acre property with a full training field and 2,000 sq ft indoor training center.
Your four legged friend will be kept in an indoor climate controlled boarding and training room. They get multiple potty breaks along with playtime and socialization opportunities throughout the day. The compound also has a huge pond for dogs who like to swim.
