As a CVT with nearly 25 years of experience, Dani is an invaluable member of the Ibis team. Over the years, she's worked in Emergency Medicine, General Practice, & alongside board-certified veterinarians in specialty practices including Dentistry, Surgical Specialty, and Reproductive Vet Medicine. She’s also a Licensed Wildlife Rehabilitator with a heart of gold.
At Ibis, her days often include directly assisting the doctors during exams, doing cytologies under the microscope, completing diagnostic lab work in our in-house laboratory, performing routine dental cleanings, monitoring patients & anesthesia during surgeries, and more.
Dr. Felz has known Dani since the early 2000’s; working together in various practices during that time, so it’s amazing to have her on board at IAH.
Her free time is spent with baking, gardening, & riding motorcycles with her partner Shannon. Together, they have 2 beautiful children; a goofy American Bully named Linus, a Staffy named Beretta, a rescued raccoon named Egg, & two cats; Dab & Mr. Burns.
A CVT with nearly a decade of experience, Tara is a former staff member who we’re excited to have back home. She’s spent most of her career in General Practice, but she’s also spent years working with Exotics & even with Wildlife. You may have recognized her from NatGeo TV’s “Dr. K’s Exotic Animal ER” where she worked alongside Dr. K for 4 seasons.
We’re fortunate to have Tara our team as she completes diagnostic lab work in our in-house laboratory, monitors patients during routine dental cleanings and surgeries, taking x-rays, and more. She also does many of our initial triage conversations by phone, so you may have spoken to her at the beginning of your visits. She’s also tremendous asset when it comes to client education; ensuring that pet parents fully understand their fur babies’ medical conditions and related treatments as well as the importance of comprehensive preventative care.
She loves to spend her free time paddle boarding & being in the outdoors whenever possible. She also has a family that includes her husband & daughter as well as Corellia, Luna, & Lando; (a trio of Mini Sharpeis), her cat Church; (a Spynx), Erika, (the American Bully), & an American Cooter Turtle named Squirt.
After working in customer service for nearly a decade, including a brief period in human medicine, Kaitlyn decided to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. In addition to her on-the-job training here at the hospital, she’s also currently pursuing a degree & a Veterinary Assistant certification.
Some of Kaitlyn’s daily tasks include correctly positioning & holding patients during their exams, vaccines, & certain treatments. She also helps us maintain our high levels of cleanliness throughout the hospital; cleaning exam rooms and kennels between patients. Every day, Kaitlyn is working on improving her knowledge base, learning new techniques, & better understanding our patients. She also helps expedite getting patients in & out of the hospital during curbside care, helps our administrative staff as needed, and more.
We look forward to helping her continue to grow & hope to eventually add her to our team as a CVT. Between her work ethic & her consistently positive attitude, she’s an absolute blessing to work alongside.
