Teresa was born and raised in Suffolk, Virginia. Employed by her uncle, who was a veterinarian, she worked in his seven doctor veterinary practice from 1976 to 1987. She attended college at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina. In 1987 she moved to Florida. In 2008 she returned to the veterinary world and was instrumental in the establishment of Ibis Animal in 2008. Teresa has two grown sons who also reside in Florida and a 5 pound rescue Chihuahua named Peanut. On her days off she enjoys dancing, reading, relaxing at the beach and spending time with family and friends.
Leigh has been with the Ibis family since 2009 and has worked in the Veterinary field for over 22 years. She has been married 18 years and has three beautiful, talented daughters. Leigh also shares her home with two wonderful rescue dogs, Bailey and Hanleigh. Bailey, is a Lab mix with the best personality. Her sister, Hanleigh, is extremely loving with just a touch of crazy mixed in. Leigh prides herself in her work. She really enjoys helping people and their four legged babies alike. Leigh is thankful that the veterinary field allows her to do what she loves and grateful that she gets to work with amazing people every day.
Angie was born in Illinois, but raised in Florida. She has resided in Loxahatchee for over 22 years and been in the veterinary field since 1989. She started as a kennel assistant, and worked her way up. She currently works as both a Veterinary Technician and Receptionist here at Ibis Animal Hospital. Animal care is her passion. Angie shares her home with 2 Doberman Pinschers, Storm and Harley, and a super sweet Pekingese named Cujo. In her free time she loves fishing and buggy rides with her husband of 30 years and is a loving mother of two young men. Dr. Felz has worked with Angie for decades.
Barb began her career in Long Island, New York at a mixed Veterinary practice where she got her first dog, Coco, a German Shorthaired Pointer. In 1973 she moved to Florida where her continued love for animals and dedication to veterinary medicine has provided her a wide array of experience from emergency medicine to practice management. She also bred and showed Doberman Pinschers, including 5 champions, in the 1990’s.
Her vast knowledge and continued dedication is a huge resource to us here in the Ibis family. Today Barb shares her home with her 16 year old Jack Russell Terrier, Taco, a 1 year old Pit Bull, Shiloh, and her 18 year old Cockatiel, Cisco. She enjoys spending time with her fur babies, playing cards with friends, reading and watching a good movie. Dr. Felz and Barb have known each other since 2001.
A native of Rio de Janeiro, Dee spent most of her childhood years split between the US and Brazil. She earned a degree in Natural Medicine at the University of P.U.C before returning to the United States In 2012. In 2014 she met her husband and they shortly thereafter adopted 2 cats and a Doberman Pinscher who they love dearly. Dhahayna is a very caring and compassionate person, she has great love for creatures big and small. As the newest member of our Ibis family, we find Dhahayna’s natural desire to learn and grow coupled with her true caring for animals make her a natural fit to our practice. In her free time Dhahayna loves to go fishing, four wheeling, and spend time cooking and entertaining her family and friends. Dhahayna is fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese.
Katie has had a great love for animals her entire life. She grew up in West Palm Beach and graduated from Wellington High school’s Pre-Veterinary Program in 2011. After graduation, she started her career in veterinary medicine and joined Ibis Animal Hospital in 2015. She is a certified massage therapist and is continuing her studies in science.
In her spare time she enjoys hunting, kayaking, paddleboarding and spending time with family and friends. Katie lives happily with her dog, Fancy, two cats, Charlie and Finn, and their very big brother, Moonshine, a 10 year old Quarter horse.
Melissa was born and raised in New Jersey, She made her way to Fort Lauderdale, Florida in 1990 to attend college, where she met her future husband. After moving to West Palm Beach in 2004, she decided to pursue an interest in the veterinary industry where she realized she could have a career doing something she truly enjoyed. She has a strong love for animals. Her home life revolves around her husband and her furbabies - her two Rat Terriers, Pandora and Raven; her Golden Retriever, Samie & her two cats, Lilly and Hershey. Melissa also enjoys her pet chickens which provide her with fresh eggs daily. She also likes to take road trips with her family touring our great country & visiting our National Parks. More than anything though, she loves relaxing at home poolside with her “kids”.
